Welcome To Sweet Pea Home Daycare!
My name is Jen and I am a home daycare provider. I am also mom to two wonderful kids. Caring for children has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I have formally worked in childcare for over 13 years. I have worked as a private nanny and a head preschool teacher as well as running my own home daycare. I have excellent references available from both past and present clients.
Sweet Pea Daycare offers a loving and caring environment just like home located in Hainesport, New Jersey. We spend our days playing, learning, and exploring. I offer age appropriate toys and activities to allow your child to explore their creative side. I have weekly themes and daily lessons to help your child discover their love of learning. I offer both indoor and outdoor playtime each day, arts and crafts, daily story time, and music appreciation in a smoke free home environment.
There is a large, fenced yard with lots of outdoor toys and a playset.
Safety and Cleanliness
I value cleanliness and safety at Sweet Pea Daycare. I take pride in the condition and cleanliness of the child care areas.
Sweet Pea Daycare is a smoke free environment. Smoking is not permitted in my home or on the property.
Sweet Pea Daycare is an animal friendly place. We have a Labrador Retriever mix who lives here. He is kept in a different area of the home when the children are here, but after hours he has free roam of the house. He is very friendly and wonderful with kids, but I tend to err on the side of caution. If your child has allergies, please take this into consideration.
The childcare areas and toys are cleaned and sanitized on a weekly basis. I sweep and mop the floors everyday and limit shoes on the area rugs since this is where the children play and crawl. I use all natural, non-toxic cleaners in my home. All toys are cleaned and/or disinfected on a daily basis to prevent the spread of germs and hand washing/sanitizing is mandatory for all children and myself throughout the day.
The childcare areas are baby and child proofed. We practice safety drills at least once per month and check the batteries in the fire alarms and carbon monoxide detectors at least once per month. All doors are locked when we are inside to prevent anyone entering without my knowledge and to prevent little ones from running outside unattended.
I maintain an open door policy for parents during child care hours. All parents are welcome to drop by or call at anytime during child care hours.
No child will be released to anyone other than a parent without written permission. ID is required for anyone other than parents who are picking up a child from daycare. This policy is not meant to make pick up difficult, but to ensure the safety and security of your child and the other children in the daycare.
Sweet Pea Daycare maintains a strict sickness policy. Please email me and I will send you a copy of this policy.
What We Offer
Food: I provide two healthy snacks and one homemade lunch each day. Nutrition is an important part of growing strong, healthy kids which is why we serve fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and quality meats.
We get the kids excited about food by assisting with food prep, helping set the table, and talking about healthy choices. We serve organic milk and water (100% juice as an occasional treat) to ensure your child is well hydrated throughout the day.
Rest: Each child has their own personal playpen or nap mat, sheets, and blanket. This helps control the spread of illnesses and creates a personal, comfortable sleeping space for your child. Bedding is washed here twice per week or when soiled.
Reliability: You can be assured that you are choosing a reliable, stable environment for your child when you choose Sweet Pea Daycare. I make a commitment to you that I will care for your child until they are ready to leave for Kindergarten. The majority of the children here stay in care for YEARS. The children build friendships together and truly become a family.
Quality: As a parent, we all want the best daycare experience for our children. My own children participate in the daycare. I built this program to teach, guide, and nurture all the kids in care the same as I do with my own. I truly believe that the balance of play, learning, and discovering the world on their own is the best way for a child to grow up with a love for life and learning.
You can be certain that your child is getting the guidance and attention they need in our small group setting. No one is left out or left behind in our program! We use the children's personal interests to build our curriculum to excite the kids and show them that what they care about, we also care about! We support their passions and help them explore others in a safe environment.
Fresh Air: Unlike many daycare centers, we can offer lots of outdoor time here at Sweet Pea Home Daycare. If the weather is nice, it is not unusual for us to do Circle Time, snack, free play, story time, and lunch outside before coming inside for nap. The kids really enjoy spending time on our playset, planting and tending our vegetable and fruit gardens, and going on nature hunts. Since we are not tied to the policies of a large center, we have the freedom to choose how to spend our days.
Infants
Infants have their very own area separate from the older children with their very own toys which are cleaned and sanitized throughout the day with non-toxic, natural cleaners to prevent the spread of colds and germs.
